Sustainable & Ethical Sourcing
We practice responsible sourcing throughout our supply chain, ensuring our customers get great quality, high welfare and sustainable food on their plates.
All TRG managed suppliers must meet the requirements of our Responsible Sourcing Policies, and we conduct routine supplier audits to ensure suppliers are operating to our high standards.
Fish

We are committed to sourcing sustainable fish, which is achieved through purchasing Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified fish rated 3 or below, and for farmed fish and seafood, only sourcing from GLOBALG.A.P or BAP 2-star or higher certified farms. We also review the Good Fish Guide every six months when it is published and modify our menus to remove any fish classified as “avoid”.
Eggs

All UK shell eggs are sourced from free-range hens, where the birds have an environment and space in excess of the legal requirement, providing them with an environment beneficial to their welfare. We have an additional commitment for owned and franchised Wagamama businesses globally to source all eggs and egg derivatives (to include shell eggs, liquid eggs, and egg products) from cage-free hens and have been working hard to meet this target. Wagamama provides updates on progress against this commitment on its own website.
Chicken

In 2026, TRG joined the Sustainable Chicken Forum, a coalition that aims to bring together hospitality businesses, farmers, independent experts and industry groups to make improvements to welfare across the poultry supply chain, utilising new research and science to create a more sustainable and ethical sector.
The Sustainable Restaurant Association
In order to benchmark our sustainability performance in our sector, we are members of The Sustainable Restaurant Association. In 2026 we were awarded 3 stars (the highest rating) in their Food Made Good assessments across all brands.

As in previous years, there continues to be no genetically modified foods or trans fats in any of our products, and we have banned artificial colours that cause hyperactivity in children from all our products served to children.
